MAKING ME FIT TO BE WITH HER
In this article, I’m picking up where the previous article titled The Beginning of Us left off; sharing on how The Lord was involved in mine and Nancy’s lives coming together and resulting in the two of “Us” becoming “One”.
In the other article I left off sharing how I came to be at the Church that Nancy was attending, which was by way of my being invited by my cousins who also attended the same Church.
In writing these articles about My Nancy, I’ve being sharing the condition of my own soul at that time; how that I was coming out of a rebellious lifestyle; whereas The Lord was using those in my family who were His Children witnessing His Love toward me.
One of these persons was my cousin (Jean Turpin) who had her own Church during this time. Off and on amid my rebellion I would attend her Church, but as stated in previous articles, when the preaching started, I would head for the exit. A month or two prior to my meeting Nancy, I was at Jean’s Church, when she had a visiting Minister there preaching, whose name was Steve Musselman, who was simply known as “Brother Stevie”.
Sure enough, once Brother Stevie hit the floor, I attempted to hit the door; but Brother Stevie stopped me in my tracks, by raising his voice, calling me out to come to the front; where he warned me that The Lord was giving me this last chance to return to Him, or He was going to stop drawing me, and I would be forever lost! Under the conviction of The Holy Ghost, my knees hit the floor, and I began to cry out to The Lord for not only His forgiveness, but for Him to come back into my life and to never leave me!
While I was praying, I felt an evil presence pressing heavy over my heart, attempting to take my very life. By then I was lying flat on my back suffocating. Thank God, that Brother Stevie recognized this “evil spirit”, and took authority over it (in The Name of Jesus) and commanded it to leave me at once! Once that spirit lifted, I knew immediately (like the prodigal son that I had become), that I had found my way back to The Loving Heavenly Father.
By the way, this same Brother Stevie, I found out later was also a member of The Norwood Church. Yes, the same Church that Nancy was attending. Some might say it was just another coincidence, but I will always believe, this service was preordained by my God to not only bring me back to Him but was in preparation of my sharing a life together with “His Nancy”, who was soon to become “My Nancy” as well. For until this night, I was unfit for her, and her God knew it.
While The Lord was preparing me for her, it turns out He was also preparing Nancy for me. For if you read the previous article, you already know that within days of my being introduced to Nancy; I was given a word of prophecy from yet another member of the Norwood Church, a Sister Strange (whom I also met through my cousin Jean) who told me The Lord would soon be bringing “The Woman” into my life whom God has chosen to be my wife.
Just prior to the time that I was getting a prophecy of The Lord bringing into my life “The Woman” He has chosen for me. Nancy had gone to a different larger Church she visited now and then, where The Gifts of The Spirit were known to be in operation on an ongoing bases; while there, she was called out by the Pastor who did not know her personally, nor anything about her. He prophesied to her that The Lord was bringing into her life “The Man” that He has chosen to be her husband, and that this would be occurring within a “few days!”
He also warned her that right beforehand that someone in her past will be showing up out of nowhere, attempting to get her to go with him, and for her to reject the offer, for it was a trap of Satan to get her out of the will of God, to cause her to miss out on the one whom He had chosen for her.
Shortly after Nancy receiving this prophecy, someone from her past did show up, trying to get her to go with him to live in Florida. With God’s interventional warning, she didn’t even give it a thought. She witnessed to this person of her born-again experience, wished him well, and sent him on his way. “Thank God!”
And I believe this occurred just a few weeks before I came into Nancy’s life.
Looking back at it now, after all these years, it still amazes me how The Lord changed both mine and Nancy’s life within that amazing twelve-month span; bringing us first to Him and then to each other. It was a marriage to be, that was being made from Heaven, just the three of us!
Please read the upcoming articles, as I will continue sharing how Nancy and I became “One” with each other and HIM.
THIS HAS BEEN ONE MAN’S OPINION OF MINE AND THE LORD’S NANCY.
